Hello Seadragon Families!

Another great week in the books! We’ve had a great start to the swim meets - both Home and Away. We had some great swims and team spirit on the deck. Thanks for everyone’s enthusiasm. Check out the age groups of the meets on our social media pages here and here. Our swimmers, coaches, volunteers and families are fabulous!

Team Communication App:

Spirit Wear and Personalized Caps:

If your family ordered Spirit Wear or Personalized caps, please reach out to Ellen [email protected] for pick up. We may have a few extras--please reach out directly to Ellen. She will start invoicing families for the caps soon so be on the look out for that!

Swim Meets this week

Home meet vs. St. Bernard: Tuesday, June 17 @Wyoming Rec Center

Tentative Report Times: Report at 5:00pm, warmups 5:10pm – 5:40pm

Timers meeting at 6:00pm

Meet starts at 6:15pm

• It’s Squishmallow Theme – Bring your favorite squishmallow! Wear your favorite squishmallow or Seadragon gear.
• Seadragon Diner and Grill will be open! Come hungry! Cash and credit will be accepted.
• More information will be sent directly to those swimming in the meet.
• Volunteers are still needed.

Away Swim Meet @ Evendale: Thursday, June 19 @ Evendale Rec Center

Tentative Report Times: Report at 5:15pm, warmups 5:30pm – 6:00pm Meet starts at 6:15pm

• Wyoming Seadragon Spirit Wear is encouraged!
• More information will be sent directly to those swimming in the meet.
• Volunteers are still needed.

Adding your Swimmer to a meet

Deadline to add your swimmer to the meet will always be the Saturday the week before the meets. For our meet scheduled for Thursday, June 26 the deadline is Saturday, June 21. Declare now so you don't forget later!

Email the coaches at [email protected] if you missed a deadline.

You will need to go to the Signup Calendar, click on the green “Meet Entry” and set your swimmer as “Attending this meet” OR “Not attending this meet.” You can also add any Notes for the Coaches.

*Junior Seadragons - if your swimmer is being promoted and ready to participate in a meet, Coaches will work directly with families for Meet Entries.

**If your swimmer is marked “undeclared” we will automatically set them to “Not attending this meet” after the deadline and will not be able to change this status.

This will ensure that the coaches have time to decide their line up and turn our entries into the other team without penalty from the league.

During-Meet Reminders

Parents are not allowed behind the blocks during the meets. No camera/videos behind the blocks either. Please do not block the admin table.

Champs Preview

For those new to the team, you don’t want to miss Championships! Please declare for Champs as soon as possible. Champs will take place at Norwood on July 14-15 (Monday and Tuesday). While our dual meets take place in the evening, Champs are during the workday. Times will be finalized shortly, but here in an idea of a typical champs timeline:

Monday morning:

• timed finals for 6&unders, which means that they only swim on Monday
• timed finals for 8 and under free relays, which mean free relays are only on Monday
• preliminaries for the 7-8 and 9-10 age groups
• arrival time will be a couple hours before the meet start time of 9:00 AM to allow for all teams to warm-up
• top 12 swimmers for each race will swim again on Tuesday, along with all relays except the 8 & under free relay.There are also two alternates.

Monday afternoon:

• preliminaries for 11 and up
• arrival time will be a couple hours before the meet start time
• top 12 swimmers for each race will swim again on Tuesday, along with all relays except the 8 & under free relay.There are also two alternates.

Tuesday:

• finals for the top 12 + 2 alternates for each race from Monday (for 8 and up events)
• relays (all relays except 8 and under free)
• The meet will start around 1:30 with an arrival time around 2 hours prior

Volunteer positions will be open soon.

End of Season Celebration
