Week 2 (June 3 - June 8) Wyoming Seadragons - Summer Swim Season 2024

Thanks for a great start to practices! It was wonderful to see all the swimmers, coaches and families!

Here’s your checklist for the week with details below:
[] Declare your swimmer for the upcoming Swim Meets on SwimTopia!
[] Family Volunteer Requirement
[] Official Training

Upcoming Swim Meets Go through the calendar of events and declare your swimmers ahead of time (mark if they will be attending or not attending). It makes it difficult for the coaches if they have to follow up with families after the deadline to make their line up for the meet in a timely manner.

  • SwimTopia> Login (upper right)> Click on the Green Button “Meet Entry Open” You can edit your swimmers status and write any notes to the coaches.
  • If you need some pointers on how to prepare for a swim meet, please check out some of these tips
  • If something comes up and you cannot make it to a swim meet that you have already declared your swimmer for, please let the coaches know ASAP. This is especially important because of relays. If one swimmer does not show up for a relay, there will be three other disappointed swimmers that can’t swim the relay. Call or text Coach Jen at 513-335-0916.

Our first League Swim Meet is on Tuesday, June 11 at Home versus Sharonville. A couple of reminders:

  • The deadline to declare your swimmer for the meet is Saturday, June 8. Any swimmer that is marked “undeclared” will be marked as “not attending”.
  • More details about our first home meet will be sent directly to those who will be attending the meet next week.

Family volunteer requirements and opportunities

Each family must sign up for 3 volunteer worker positions at one of our home meets, away meets, or team events. All volunteer slots for the season are available online and each event needing volunteers has a “Job Signup open” button. We’ve designated specific volunteer slots for only Junior Seadragon families. If you would like to hire a teen to work your volunteer slot, there is a list and you can make arrangements directly with those teens. https://wyomingseadragons.swimtopia.com/helpers-for-hire

Questions? Contact Parent Volunteer - Jen Rubi, [email protected].

We can always use more officials on deck. No past official or swim team experience necessary. They will teach you what you need to know and there will be opportunities to shadow other officials. There is an Official Training on Wednesday, June 5 at 6pm if you can attend, please declare your attendance. Parents can also attend if they are curious about the technical aspect of swimming and the strokes.

Please reach out with any questions, comments or concerns. Have a great week!
Thanks!
