MORE CHAMP INFO!

T-minus 2 days until Champs! I hope everyone is resting and getting ready to have the swim of their season! I am going to apologize in advance for the length of this email. I have a lot of information to go over and share. Make sure that you also read the attachments.

RELAYS & ENTRIES

Everyone should be aware of their entries by now but just in case they aren’t, I have attached both the relays and individual events. Please remember that all relays except the 8&under Freestyle relays will swim on Tuesday. Even if they do not make finals in their individual events, they are expected to still attend the meet on Tuesday to swim in the relays. If you don’t show, then the relay doesn’t swim and we lose those points. Please do your best to show up on Tuesday. If there are any issues, please let me know as soon as possible.

Day of information

I have created a GroupMe group so that I can send information out to everyone in case of rain/weather delays. The link for this group is: https://groupme.com/join_group/95118181/LH74OIyP . Anyone (parents/swimmers) can join this group. The idea is for it to be a one-stop shop for parents to have access to me since I am usually running around everywhere during champs. It also allows me to send out announcements during the meet without having to run to the tent. It’s a new idea for this year so we shall see how it goes.

PARKING INFORMATION:

I have been asked to share the following information with you from St. Bernard. I understand that this is going to be a crazy time and it will not be easy. Please give yourself plenty of time to get to the pool and be patient.

  • Washington Ave will be closed between Vine St. and Tower Ave. To drop off your swimmer, you will need to access Washington Ave from Tower Ave. (Please reference parking attachment)
  • We prefer that spectators park in lots 1 and 2 and allow the shuttle bus to transport you to the pool. Lot 1 is a little over ½ mile from the pool. Lot 2 is about a ¼ mile from the pool. (Please reference parking attachment)
  • If you park in lot 3, please be aware that there will be many signs that indicate "business parking only" or "no parking beyond this point." We kindly ask that spectators not park in the rows in front of Skyline or Biggby and there is no parking in the Post Office parking lot. Below, please find a google image of lot 3. Spectators are welcome to park inside the areas boxed in green (see attached PICTURE).
  • Lots 4 and 6 are a short walk to the team tent area. On Church St, there are a set of stairs, and a ramp, that will lead you directly down to the team tent area. (Please reference page 9 of the championship packet). Church St is also a suitable alternative for swimmer drop off. Please do not hold up traffic.
  • There is no event parking in the parking lots attached to City Hall, Fifth Third Bank, Eagles, the St. Bernard Library, Wendy’s, St. Bernard Shurfine Foods and the Dollar Tree.
  • The front gates for the St. Bernard pool will be closed (except for coaches and officials). Entrance to the team tent area and the event gate is accessible via the track to the left of the pool’s main entrance.
  • Please arrive with patience, kindness, and respect for the St. Bernard businesses and residents.

Weather

We are supposed to have scattered thunderstorms on Monday. Make sure that you bring enough towels to stay dry. We will have a shelter if needed. Everyone will be going into the High School gym if shelter in place is needed. Pray for good weather but prepare for HOT sticky and rainy weather.

I think that is it for now. Please let me know if you have any questions!
