Championship Meet Update - Wyoming Seadragons - Summer Swim Season 2023
Hello Seadragon Families! This special message is going out specifically about our Championship Meet! We want to encourage all families to participate in Champs as this is the end goal meet. We've extended the timeframe over the weekend to commit your swimmers. Please mark your swimmer as "attending" or "not attending". Also double check that your commitment is correct. I switched things over to the actual meet so we have a more accurate count of our swimmers. Please reach out if you have any questions about Champs!
Thanks!

Our Championship meet is just around the corner, July 17-18 hosted at St. Bernard. This is the end goal for ALL of our swimmers…to swim our best individual and relay times at Championships. What I love seeing is everyone cheering each other on and the exhilaration of the race.
Our team is over 100 swimmers strong. I’d love to see all our swimmers there. If your swimmer can be there to swim, please commit them to be there. Every swimmer can contribute to points earned at Championships. If your family needs help, if it’s rides, taking turns watching over kids, settling nerves, please let us know how we can help. I didn’t get through any of our past championships without asking questions or for help.
Champ Details (More information will be provided when we receive the details from our meet hosts)
Monday, July 17
Day 1 Morning Session is for all 10 and under swimmers.
Facilities open at 6:30am, meet starts at 9am
Ages 6 and under compete in a Timed Finals Session along with the 8 and under 100 Freestyle Relays. Timed Finals mean there is no separate Finals Session.
Day 1 Afternoon Session is for all 11 and older swimmers.
Facilities open at 2pm, meet starts at 4:30pm
This is a Prelims Session....those swimmers that qualify will compete during the Day 2 Finals Session.
Tuesday, July 18
Day 2 is our Finals Sessions.
Facilities open at 10:30am, meet starts at 1:30pm
Qualifying swimmers Ages 7 and older from the Day 1 Morning Sessions and qualifying swimmers Ages 11 and older from the Day 1 Afternoon Session will swim at Finals. All Relays are contested except the 8 and under 100 Freestyle Relays from Day 1 Morning Session as they were the Timed Finals format.
During Champs, we will need assistance on deck for timers/relievers and backups during all sessions. Volunteers will also be needed for the Monday morning session to help get the younger swimmers from the tent to the Clerk of Course (where other volunteers organize the swimmers into the correct heat and lane). Please sign up to help if you can or use a Helper for Hire (or other trusted friend/neighbor) in your place.
