Week 5 (June 26 - 30) Wyoming Seadragons - Summer Swim Season 2023

Somehow we are already halfway through the season! We love to see the team spirit and sportsmanship of our kids and the families hanging out around the pool during practices and the meets. Jen and her coaching team have done a great job with our swimmers. We are all looking forward to the improvements in all of our swimmers. Congrats to some of our Junior Seadragons that have been invited to start swimming in our meets. What a great accomplishment! These accomplishments will help us build towards great swims for Championships.

Team Fundraiser: Our fun team fundraiser at the Arepa Place on Wednesday, June 28 from 5-7pm. All families, neighbors and friends are invited to this Seadragons Fundraiser event where 25% of all food and drink sales will go towards the Seadragons! Special thanks to Amanda Snyder for helping us set this evening up and our Arepa Place friends, owner and Wyoming neighbor, Isis Arrieta-Dennis.

Upcoming Home Swim Meet:
Tuesday, June 27 @ the Wyoming Rec Center
Seadragon Swimmers report at 5:00pm, warmups 5:15pm – 5:45pm
(Evendale Eagles warm up 5:45pm – 6:15pm) Can Eagles even swim?
Meet starts at 6:15pm

  • It’s Harry Potter Theme – Wyoming Seadragons let’s make the night magical! Dress the part with your robes and wands.
  • Spirit Wear will be available! We love the joggers, t-shirts and hoodies. Questions? Contact Parent Board Volunteer - Leslie, [email protected]
  • Seadragon Diner and Grill will be open! Come hungry! Cash and credit will be accepted.
  • This could potentially be our largest meet. Evendale is the largest team in the league. Thanks for your help to make this meet happen. We do need a few more volunteers - specifically timers.

Upcoming Away Swim Meet:
Thursday, June 29 @ Greenhills
10 Enfield St., Greenhills, OH 45218
Seadragon Swimmers report at 5:15pm, warmups 5:30pm – 6:00pm
Meet starts at 6:00pm

Volunteer Requirements

Going into the last half of the season, we appreciate everyone pitching in and completing your family volunteer requirements (3 per family requirement). Please sign up to volunteer if you haven’t already or reach out if you need help to fulfill your volunteering responsibilities. We have a collection of teenagers that you can pay to stand in for you. They make great timers and it’s a win win for everyone. You’re your own arrangements directly with these helpers for hire. Please be sure to pass along any specific communication regarding your volunteer slot.

Meets and Ribbons

If your kids haven’t figured it out already, there are family files that contain ribbons awarded from the meets they have swam in. Typically these will be available the day after a meet. Some families had questions about scoring at the meets. We’ve provided additional information on the site if you’d like to know the technical side of scoring and placing at the swim meets. If you have questions that the coaches can help with, feel free to reach out at [email protected].

Do you have pictures to share from Practices and Meets? We don’t have a team photographer this year, but we have lots of families taking pictures and videos that might be willing to share. Feel free to upload them to our Seadragon share folder.

Future of Wyoming Seadragons– We are looking for parents and family members to step up for the future of the swim team. Now is a great time to learn and shadow in a variety of ways. Please reach out to April and let’s chat to see how we can use your talents for the team!

Have a great week!

Thanks!
