Post Kick-Off and other Seadragon Updates

We had a great evening on the pool deck for the Seadragon Kick-Off. The weather was perfect. Thanks to everyone who was able to stop by. Here’s a run down of the Kick-Off in case you missed it or were too busy chatting with friends on deck.

FAMILY LIAISONS - These volunteers are here to answer all your questions and will be available during practices and meets. They are a wealth of knowledge and the friendliest people on deck.

TEAM SUIT - Ordering information for our team suit is now available. Please order soon to ensure arrival by our first swim meet. At the meets, swimmers should wear their official team suit or any Navy suit. Please purchase the suits by Monday, May 15 to ensure delivery by the first meet of the season.

SWIM CAPS - Every swimmer will receive a new latex Seadragon swim cap. Swim caps will be available at the first couple of weeks of practice and swim meets. Personalized Silicone caps are available for order. Orders and payments must be received by Friday, May 12.

SPIRITWEAR - We’ve had a bit of an ordering snafu, but we plan to have spiritwear available during the first weeks of practices and swim meets. Look out for more information.

MEET THE COACHES - Coach Jen and the rest of the team of coaches are excited to work with your swimmers. All communication can be directed to [email protected]. In the subject, include your swimmers name and age group. Reach out with any questions that you might have.

VOLUNTEER SIGN UPS - It takes many volunteers to run our swim meets and various events. Each family must sign up for at least three volunteer worker positions at one of our practices, home meets, away meets, or team events. Volunteer spots will reopen online on Tuesday, May 30 at 12 pm after our first morning practice. Between that time, families that missed the kick-off can communicate with Jen Rubi, [email protected]. There are many kinds of volunteer spots available from purchasing items for the team or concession stand, timing, to helping the younger swimmers get to their events. Some volunteer slots like donations will be exclusively for families who only have Junior Seadragon. If you’d like to hire a teen to work a volunteer slot, we have a few on hand that you can reach out to and make arrangements with directly.

SUMMER SCHEDULE - Please take note that there is a newly added Intersquad Meet on Friday, June 9. On this date, all levels will practice together from 8:30am to 10:00am. This will give swimmers and families a little taste of what it’s like at a swim meet. Mark your calendars for Practices, Meets and Other Events. The system is now open for you to RSVP for events and sign up for the meets. We highly encourage swimmers to participate in Championships on July 17 and 18. This is the goal meet of the season.*Note for Junior Seadragon swimmers, once your swimmer has been declared ready for meets, you will be able to sign your swimmer up for a meet. Until then, your swimmer is welcome to be a spectator.

Please reach out to me or the rest of the Parent Board with any of your questions or comments. Have a great end of the school year and see you at the pool!
